In my capacity as Human Resources Manager, I am excited by the continued implementation of our multi-faceted plan to increase the diversity of PT and FT faculty selection pools. The plan components have included: 1) Negotiating changes to the PT faculty collective bargaining agreement to replace a focus on seniority with a focus toward Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) for all candidates; 2) Revising the Board Policy which governs PT faculty hiring procedures to better support EEO principles; and 3) Implementing a comprehensive and successful Faculty Mentor/Internship Program that has become a pipeline for new PT and FT faculty positions. I am honored and motivated to assist the district in hiring and retaining the most qualified faculty to serve our diverse student population.
